Is the free version really free, or crippled?
Genuinely free. No watermarks, no signup, no time limits, no nag screens. The only difference is AI features (OCR, AI analysis, translate) — those run on our servers and cost real money per request, so they're Pro-only.
Why a subscription instead of a one-time payment?
AI features (OCR, analysis, translation) cost us per request when you use them — we pay Google for every image processed. A subscription lets us keep delivering those without limits while keeping the price low.
Does Klyxshot send my screenshots anywhere?
Free version: never. Everything stays on your machine. Pro version: only the screenshot you explicitly send to AI/OCR/Translate is uploaded to our servers, processed by Google Gemini, then immediately discarded. We don't store or train on your data.
Can I cancel my Pro subscription?
Yes, anytime. Cancel from your Lemon Squeezy receipt email or by emailing support. You keep Pro features until the end of your billing period.
Is Klyxshot open source?
The desktop client will be open-sourced on GitHub once we hit v1.5. The backend (license server, AI proxy) stays closed-source for security and economics.
macOS / Linux versions?
Coming. Windows is the first target — biggest market for screenshot tools. macOS port is planned for late 2026. Linux when there's demand.
What's the system requirement?
Windows 10 or newer. ~80MB disk space. About 100MB RAM idle. Works fine on any machine made in the last 8 years.
